Think Again: The Crisis from Nowhere →
It’s no surprise to me as to why most people didn’t see the banking crisis coming, the mainstream media chose not to cover it as the story developed. I’m certain most people can explain what’s going on with Lindsay Lohan instead.

Jewel v. NSA →
“In Jewel v. NSA, EFF is suing the National Security Agency (NSA) and other government agencies on behalf of AT&T customers to stop the illegal, unconstitutional, and ongoing dragnet surveillance of their communications and communications records.” Good luck to the EFF!
AIG shares dive 34% on news of probe by FBI →
All of the companies that recently have been bailed out by the FED are being investigated for fraud by the FBI. I expect things to continue to get worse for AIG and all others. Hopefully the FBI will prosecute the leadership that tanked AIG and others for profit.

Texas election law is a joke. It keeps the independents and third-parties off the ballot while allowing the two major parties to ignore statute.

Neither Fair Nor Effective →
The Bush administration’s bail-out plan ignores homeowners that are right smack in the middle of this financial crisis. Furthermore, I do not feel that we the tax payers should bail out companies that were driven to failure by greedy executives.

“I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, ‘I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia,’” he said. “That kind of thing is insulting to the American people.”
AIG bailout is move to avert global crisis →
The most informative part of the story is the last paragraph- it explains exactly why it was believed that AIG’s failure would have created a global crisis. I don’t agree with the government bailing out failed businesses because it’s a waste of tax dollars. Proactive thinking through investment in new green industries would be a better use of funds, imho.

While I seriously doubt that Barr will be able to keep the major parties off the ballot in Texas, I feel that it’s important that this lawsuit move forward to set precedent.

This should be illegal. We need government oversight to protect us from being forced to give up our rights in order to use services. For instance, AT&T customers give up the right to sue. At least California is on the front lines of consumer defense.
