Lingering Denial →
This just proves that the world would indeed be a much better place without cable news. Oh yeah and if you don’t understand what the difference between climate and weather is, just think of it as the difference between your head and your face.

Mediocre Mediocrity
This song is about the time my uncle drank too much and tried to have sex with my sister. No, really. I’m not about to turn around but someone is playing an acoustic cover of the, “Thong Song.” Wasn’t it bad enough when record executives paid off radio stations to play this song ten years ago?

These recommendations are good but we’re talking about getting the Texas Legislature to take action, dream on. Maybe a few of these ideas will become law but I don’t expect sweeping changes, not in this political and economic climate.

Media Matters: Fundamentally flawed stimulus... →
Government spending = Stimulus. If you give someone $100 in food stamps, they are going to spend it all. If you give someone $100 in tax cuts, they probably will end up saving most of it. This is an excellent article on exactly what’s wrong with big media’s coverage of the stimulus bill.
Bush overpaid banks in bailout, watchdog says →
The Bush administration’s mismanagement of TARP funds essentially bailed banks out for assets they do not have. In 10 transactions that were reviewed, $62.5 million more than the value of assets was handed out. More than 300 institutions have received federal bailout money, so it is believed that $78 billion was overpaid in total.

While I’d like to see the number of signatures lowered, it would be better to see the more offensive prohibition of primary voters signing ballot access petitions ended. Time to write your reps.
