Heavy Metal
After going on a 10 mile training ride last night, I met up with Keith from Social Cycling and learned that he’s changed things up a little for the Monday Night Heavy Metal Fitness Ride. The ride is now broken up into 3 different groups. You, the rider, choose which group you want to start in, A, B, or C (A being the fastest) and if the A or B group is too fast for you, you can drop back to the C group which rides with a no-drop policy.
As of late, the Heavy Metal Fitness RIde had been getting so fast that you needed bike shorts and a carbon bike to keep up with the group. Not cool if you’re like me and ride in jeans on steel while wearing a messenger bag.
Keith really wants to win people back to Monday Night who were discouraged by the extremely fast pace in the dark and it seems like this just might do the trick.
